Frequently Asked Questions
Who are we?
Break Through Potential is a team of certified educators, and many team members have worked in schools for over twenty years. We offer every educational service you could need while in high school. We aim for all students to graduate and attend a higher education institution. We also specialize in assisting students that are interested in alternatives to college.
The ideal time to begin working with us is at least the end of 8th grade. We help students create a strategic plan that improves their chances of admission to highly competitive institutions. We also have services for elementary and middle school students.
Choosing Break Through Potential means developing a trusting relationship with elite educators for all your education needs. You will receive quality service from teachers and administrators with experience with student needs and can guide students and parents through challenging aspects of school.
Why pay for services when the school can help me?
Unfortunately, teachers and other faculty members are busier than ever and have little time to provide additional attention to all their students. As a result, by no fault of their own, they cannot help all their students to the degree they may need assistance. Email is often the best way to communicate with the school, and when you have an important yet quick question, it may take a day or two, sometimes more, for a response. This can be frustrating for parents and students trying to meet deadlines. Those that need a lot of assistance may find it nearly impossible to find a meeting time when all parties are available.
With Break Through Potential, workshops allow you to work with someone with experience and answer your questions at the moment so you can move on. Additionally, you can buy an unlimited text package and receive responses quicker than contacting the school. Our team members are certified and experienced in the field of the service they provide. So rest assured, you will get accurate information every time.
Why pay for services when I understand what to do?
There are things that the school will ask you or your student will be required to do that are clear-cut and inconsequential, and there is no reason you should pay for services. But you don’t know what you don’t know, and sometimes, there are unwritten rules that we can share.
But if tasks the results are merit-based, competitive in nature; if you are unsure of the purpose, have questions, or most importantly if it is tied to your student’s future, we guarantee you will be happy you worked with us. If you are unsure, book a free consultation, and we will provide the information to make your decision. Our primary goal is to help students, not nickel and dime our clients. If you are unsatisfied with the services received, our founders want to hear about it, and we ask that you contact her at [email protected], and she will meet with you personally.
Education services are too expensive; is it worth it?
Only you will be able to answer this question. However, some of our services, such as helping students identify, may save you tens of thousands of dollars in the future since only 41% of students graduate college in four years. Additionally, there may be far less expensive pathways to the same future goals that families are unaware of. We ensure that your student attends a higher education institution to accomplish their goals and fit their needs and yours.
We suggest parents ask themselves a few questions to help make this decision. First, if your student’s accomplishment could have had even better results, will you be disappointed knowing an investment now could have made a difference? Does the investment now outweigh the potential outcomes in the future?
How do you determine prices?
Educators pursue this field because we want to help students be successful, not because we wish to do millionaires. We research market prices, and our goal is always to have lower prices. Sometimes our prices are higher than other services because you receive higher quality.
We also consider individual circumstances because we want to support every student. If the costs are the reason you are not pursuing the help your student needs, please fill out the free consultation form. We will make every effort to meet the needs of your student and family.
Our founder and owner has launched a nonprofit organization providing our same educational services and is currently applying for grants so we can support all of our students. We will be providing more information as funds become available.
If you are someone that can donate so others may receive services, please visit our donation page. All donations are tax-deductible, and every dollar you donate changes children’s futures.
Why should I pay more when I can pay less somewhere else?
As we research market prices, we value the opportunity cost for our employees and clients. For education, they must consider their already overwhelming workload and loss of personal time versus the value they receive. Our founder and owner believe students deserve the best of the best. We receive hundreds of applications, and 1% of them are asked to join our team.
Simply put, you get what you pay for. Certified educators have the experience that enables instructional continuity. Teachers are experts and trained to identify learning gaps and invisible barriers that prevent student success. They use this to tailor instruction and integrate solutions. Non-educators cannot do this but rather teach in isolation, meaning a segment of information, concept, or skill, to prepare students for an assessment.
Last, the heart of a great educator finds ways to help students succeed. You will find our teachers asking questions or making requests to do more than a tutor. Effective teaching and learning is a skilled infusion of neuroscience, cognition, psychology, and other fields that require expertise in addition to subject area knowledge. Do not settle for inexperienced teachers if you want to improve your student’s success.
